I understand
that participation in a personal protection class does
not make me invincible, nor does it guarantee success in
every encounter. I understand that it is vitally important that
understanding an aggressor, self awareness, my: unique personality traits,
behavioral tendancies, physical resources, capabilities, lifestyle, and
the value I place on my personal self worth all serve to influence the options
I choose when faced with the need to protect myself. I understand that in
the event of an altercation, it may be necessary to revise my approach to
personal protection in response to criminal behavior.
I understand
that personal protection programs sometimes create a false sense of security,
resulting in overconfidence in some students. The worst case scenario being
an overly agressive or antagonistic person with poor fighting skills. All
programs, including, Fight or Flight Self Defense, run this risk.
